If you have not lived in poverty, you may not appreciate the challenges faced on a daily basis for those that are struggling to make ends meet.
People living in poverty are often in survival mode, unable to plan for tomorrow as they face today’s trials: who is watching the children? How will I get to work? Do I have enough money to buy groceries for dinner? What about the rent?
Daily struggles can have a huge impact on a person’s ability to hold a stable job, as systemic barriers may be too much to overcome.
Through the “Bridges Out of Poverty” training, North End Community Improvement Collaborative, Inc. (NECIC) and Temp2Higher can assist employers in offering support that may make a difference, not only in the lives of employees, but in the strength of their workforce.
