Fund to Support Workers

In Richland County, of the 21,000 people receiving public assistance, 83% are working.  The costs of childcare, transportation, steel-toed boots and utilities can be an overwhelming obstacle.   Our Supportive Services Fund provides financial support to our associates in need so they can keep working and overcome barriers to their employment.

Your tax deductible donation helps us provide transportation, training and case management services.

The Initiative to Support Low-Wage Workers offers transportation and job placement as well as education, including the Bring Your A Game to Work, Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-By World, and Getting Ahead While Getting Out curriculums, financial literacy, and, in partnership with North Central State College, a Customer Service Certification program.

The Associate Support Network connects Temp2Higher associates with a Certified Community Health Worker (CHW). The CHW serves on-site at participating employers to connect associates with area resources such as childcare, training, and transportation. The CHW supports workers, thereby reducing turnover and increasing the stability of the workforce.

To address the transportation issue faced by many, NECIC/Temp2Higher joined forces with Richland County Transit, industrial park employers, and the Richland County Regional Planning Commission to bring increased service to the area for a six-month trial period.

As an additional step, Temp2Higher recently purchased a passenger van, and will be providing third-shift transportation to select local employers.

By making a donation, you will support workers and encourage economic revitalization.

Donations can be conveniently made online. We appreciate your support!
